I spent sixteen years building CleanStart, a Vancouver social enterprise that does the work other companies don't want to do, alongside people who deserve a chance to work and rarely get one. It works. It is profitable. It changes lives, including mine.
Nobody taught me how to make a difference and build a profitable business at the same time. I learned it the hard way. My hope is that you get there faster, and gentler, than I did.
The old language was people before profit. I put it the other way round: profit for the people. Everything you do has to work economically, because the money is what funds the wages, the stability, the training, the things that actually change someone's life.
A business that acts charitably, rather than a charity that acts like a business. Same goals, different framework.

I'm the founder and Board Chair of CleanStart Property Services, a Vancouver social enterprise I've spent sixteen years building and operating. CleanStart provides property services in social housing, healthcare and other complex environments while creating employment for people who face barriers to work. In 2026, CleanStart and Just Like Family Home Care Canada launched CleanStart Franchising Inc., a joint venture to take the model nationally through locally owned businesses. My work now is focused on coaching franchisees and other entrepreneurs to build strong, profitable businesses that create meaningful employment and measurable social impact.

A workforce, and a national network.One-to-one conversations about whatever you are building or carrying, drawing on what my own work has taught me. Some of that work was building a company. The deeper part was work on myself, and it is what made everything else possible.
Coaching is one to one, by video, usually an hour at a time. We meet weekly or every two weeks, with voice notes in between when things come up. The work follows whatever you are facing.
Most people work with me over several months rather than a single call. I take on a small number of clients at a time. The first conversation is free and has no obligation attached. If I am not the right person for what you are carrying, I will say so and try to point you somewhere better.
I burned out doing this work, and I came back from it. I coach other people so they do not have to do what I did.
